Trailing at The Fiscalini Ranch

The Fiscalini Ranch provides a lot of trails to explore the preserve and around. Out of those, we would suggest you go on the bluff trail. The area is spread out into 400-acre property. All the trails lead up to the coast.

The bluff trail has got scenic routes to wander. The trial is free of cost and the best time to go is in the time between afternoon and evening. And the best season to visit is Spring when the flowers are blooming to the fullest.

The path is well marked making it easier to follow. En route, you’d discover the amazing flora and stunning sky views. The walk starts from the northern end. The pathway meanders along with the tides. Take it slow and admire nature’s offerings. It will happen to be a rejuvenating walk for sure.

A glimpse of The Infamous Landmark

Nitt Witt Ridge is of historical importance to the town. It is one of the oldest and unique houses in Cambria. It is an amalgam of contemporary and victorian age architecture. The materials used are native. The architecture is intricately designed giving it a significant bohemian look.
The colors are subtle too. The owner provides a tour of the house and introduces the visitors to age-old stories. He also explains the making of the house and how it passed from generation to generation.

The storytelling makes the tour altogether more enthralling. The interior is artistic and aesthetic. The house is tender and needs to be taken care of immensely. Learn about the folk art at Nitt Witt Ridge.

Stroll Cambria’s charming main street

Cambria's charming main street

Cambria’s Main Street is fun to walk, with lots of one-of-a-kind stores and galleries. If you enjoy antiquing or looking for unique gifts, you will love browsing the stores here.

Ephraim Pottery has beautiful ceramics created by local artists. Amphora Gallery is another fine gallery that also offers works by local artists. Spellbound Herbs, on Burton Drive, just off Main Street, has lots of scented home and body care, and their garden is a joy to wander.
Step into Linn’s Easy as Pie Cafe for a slice of olallieberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can also get other olallieberry treats here to take home: preserves, sauces, tea, syrup, honey, and spreadable fruit.

The olallieberry, in case you were wondering, is a cross between a blackberry and the youngberry. It tastes tart and sweet, like a blackberry, and you have to try it when you visit Cambria!

Visit Hearst Castle

William Randolph Hearst was a businessman, newspaper publisher, and politician known for developing the nation’s largest newspaper chain and media company, Hearst Communications. Between 1919 and 1949, Hearst and architect Julia Morgan worked on building what is now known as the Hearst Castle.

Modeled after European and Roman buildings and architecture, the Hearst Castle houses the bulk of Hearst’s art collection gathered from all over Europe during his many trips overseas.

A visit to Hearst Castle might surprise you since on the hillside surrounding the castle, Hearst has brought exotic animals like the zebra. It is a common site to see cows mingling with zebras on the hills surrounding the Enchanted Hill, even as you drive on Highway 1. Pay attention to cars stopped on the side of the road as people usually stop to see these amazing animals.

Enjoy the Food of Cambria

Linn’s of Cambria is a beautiful company. From a local ranch to an amazing restaurant and bakery, Linn’s of Cambria must be of your places to visit while in Cambria. We had dinner at Linn’s Restaurant right on Main street on the last day when they allowed outdoor dining during the COVID-19 pandemic. The next day we came to Linn’s Easy As Pie Cafe, a few minutes up the road from the restaurant, and bought their famous Olialenberry pie.

Boni’s Tacos is an unassuming Mexican take-out restaurant situated in the industrial area of Cambria. If you don’t know about it, you would not find it. The host at beautiful Oceanpoint Ranch highly recommended the place to us and it did not disappoint. Boni’s Tacos (click for map location) is the definition of a Mexican “hole in the wall”, which is unassuming but has amazing food. Their famous Al Pastor pork burrito is simply delicious.
